Obviously my first expectation for myself in relation to this program is to pass the program and receive my diploma on my way to gaining my masters of Education. If I can gain knowledge through this course that I can apply to my online learning classrooms and have better and deeper learning being shown through my students then I would also consider that a success. I feel like this course is going to provide me with many tools and if I
can say at the end that I forged my own path that lead to creating my own understandings and gave me a selection of tools to make me a better teacher then I would consider myself a success and say that my journey in the program is complete; although my journey as a whole will not be complete. Learning is a life-long process and as a teacher I believe that you learn from your students as they learn from you so any teacher that says their journey is complete, in my opinion, should retire. I guess I will know that I have arrived at the end of the program with all the tools it could possibly give me once I receive my diploma but I will just be at the beginning of my teaching journey. I do not plan to “arrive” at my final learning destination until the day I retire or possibly many years after that.
The journey is one that, in my opinion, should span your entire teaching career. How
